is this gnome and compiz-fusion?
how did you do this?

:iconmrblondeisback:
you have to disable nautilus drawing the background first:

in term type: gconf-editor
navigate to apps > nautilus > preferences and turn "Show Desktop" off

then under the compiz-fusion settings go to the cube and put the backgrounds in the background field.

Easy as pie. Real cool too. Of course, when you do this it disables icons on the desktop, but frankly I think that's a good thing. Looks cleaner.

You can now use a plugin form Compiz Fusion to do that and still having your icons. I miss my Ubuntu, hopefully in about 2 weeks, I'll get one back ***evil laugh***
